This 3-leaf dampener is an important moisture-conditioning device used in the wheat cleaning section of flour mills. It precisely controls and stabilizes the amount of water added to wheat, ensuring uniform moisture distribution throughout the kernels after tempering.
Uniform moisture conditioning improves milling performance by increasing bran toughness, reducing endosperm hardness, and weakening the bond between bran and endosperm. This enhances both grinding and sifting efficiency, contributing to higher flour extraction rates and improved flour color and overall product quality.

Advanced Moisture Conditioning System
The water addition system ensures that tempered wheat achieves the moisture level required by the flour milling process. This helps stabilize milling operations and maintain consistent flour quality.
Two-Stage Conditioning Design
The 3-leaf dampener body is divided into two functional sections:
● Front Section: Equipped with paddle-type blades that convey the wheat while ensuring thorough surface wetting.
● Rear Section: Applies pressure and intensive mixing to break the surface water tension of the kernels, promoting deeper and faster moisture penetration.
During the conditioning process, the blades create a vigorous rolling and self-rotating motion of the wheat kernels, producing thorough and random mixing. This ensures that every kernel receives a uniform amount of moisture.
At the same time, the gentle rubbing action between kernels and blades lightly cleans the grain surface, helping to remove attached impurities and improve wheat quality.
Precise Water Control
A water inlet is integrated into the feed pipe and can be connected to an automatic moisture control system, allowing more accurate water addition and improved conditioning performance.
Reduced Tempering Time
